This sencha is grown in Higashishirakawa, Gifu, a mountainous tea-growing area surrounded by forests and clear streams. The region’s highland climate - with frequent morning fog, cool nights, and wide temperature shifts — helps tea leaves develop rich umami and soft flavour as they grow more slowly than in lowland fields. Higashishirakawa’s tea traditions date back centuries and reflect the thoughtful care of local tea producers.
Blended with bright Japanese yuzu peel, this tea opens with a refreshing citrus aroma that harmonises with the gentle umami of sencha. The result is a light, fragrant cup with balanced flavour and a calm, uplifting finish.
Brewing Instructions:
・Use 1 teaspoon per cup
・Add 80–90°C hot water
・Steep for 40–60 seconds
